I installed new shocks and springs on my 2016 cruiser, which gave me an approximately 2-inch lift. The radar cruiser control still works while on highways but when driving on country roads with cruise control on, it turns off when going around corners. Toyota says that it's the result of the lift and that they cannot recalibrate the radar unit because of this. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you solve it? Couldn't Toyota just raise the calibration target to compensate for the lift?

I have a mountain road I drive on a regular basis. There are a few turns I can take at 60mph While staying in my lane. Cruise control will shut off in those corners. I’ve never had it happen on a road I’m not familiar with, because I wouldn’t typically have cruise control on powering through unknown corners.

I guess what I’m saying is that it happens to me but only when I really should be slowing through the corner.

There is a FSM (Toyota factory service manual) procedure to calibrate the PCS sensor, but people have reported that many dealers refuse to do the work due to liability concerns.

If I remember correctly @Eric Sarjeant (member here and GM at the Ed Martin dealership that did a lot of 200 builds) has posted about recalibrating after a lift (and I think had a liability waiver). So you may find an exception to the general response if you ask around.

Thanks Charlie. I looked at the Ed Martin videos but did not see anything referring to my problem. I'm going to DM Ed to see if he can help.

I dont use mine on my 2019. even on the closest setting ist too much room and invites others to cut in front of you forcing the cruiser to stab the brakes. I override it and use old school cruise control.

I lifted both a 2016 and 2018 I never had a problem with cruise control and use it quite often.

I am beginning to think that the problem has nothing to do with the lift. I had a problem with the front wheel speed sensor cables, which were replaced. The problem started after the lift and cable replacement so it may be the cables not the lift.

I understand you are experiencing problems with the Radar Cruise Control, but do you also have problems with standard Cruise Control?
