Hello all
After I decided now (after a short research) to give my 2008 200 a cruise control (Africa manual version... prepared it is but the cruise control is just not available) and I ordered the switch. Now the question arises on which pins the two cables come in the steering wheel. Unfortunately I have found nothing on the net and the only thing I found were retrofits on FJ Cruisers from the same year.
Does anyone here happen to know the assignment or would open the steering wheel for a picture?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if you see anything in here to help you but will post in case. My cruise went out on a trip I rushed the stalk/switch to my location but didn't fix the issue I ended up changing the clock spring when I got back home which was the culprit.

Update.
Yesterday I got the component and today immediately opened the steering wheel. Fits perfectly and the free plug location is also available.
So far great ... only ... after the first test drive, the vehicle showed no reaction to the component. Ok, check the fuse. Short research -> the fuse is located in the fuse box on the passenger side.
Now to the problem... cables etc are all present only there is no fuse box in the Africa version 😭😩

Bummer well you can always run an inline fuse and wire to the battery until you can wire in an accessory fuse box if you don't already have one.

The FSM doesn't mention a fuse in troubleshooting the Cruise control system. So possibly it's not there. Do you have Techstream? There is a section specifically for testing the cruise control system to verify it is reading the inputs from the switch. There are also a lot of failsafes that keep it from engaging. Possibly you have some other DTC keeping it from activating.

As far as I can tell from the FSM, the way the switch works, is the ECU provides some voltage to the switch on one of the leads and the other lead is connected to ground. The ECU then samples the resistance on it's output. Depending on which switch you activate on the stalk a different resistor is engaged and the ECU sees different resistance. This is how it can control the whole system with just 2 wires.

Update.
I was now a few days ago at the nearest Toyota workshop and have checked via the OBD where the problem lies.
Purely electrically and mechanically has my 200 everything he needs for cruise control...... only unfortunately missing in the ECU the entire block for speed control and thus the cruise control. Thus I would probably need a control unit that has this software programmed and thus blows up the cost I am willing to spend. 😞
I remain so willy-nilly with the stick I clamp on the gas pedal.... 😂

Do you think it's missing a physical set of components in the ECU or do you think it just needs to be programmed to recognize the cruise control input?

As we have seen it is a part of the code in the ECU missing. Since they can’t beeing programmed there is no „cheap“ way. Physical everything needed is there….
