Been there a few times. next open weekend is this weekend. The blues and blacks are fun, but on the blacks and reds watch out, Chris has no problem putting you in hairy predictements. I have had a little damage, but know when to say when. Chris and Heather are great to have as guides though.

Welp, may be we should make a plan to hit the trails there. This month seems like a busy one, may be in April? What do ya'll say? :D

FYI, CLCC is co-hosting a Swap Meet on April 15 with OCC, NoVA Jeepers, and Maryland Creepers.

Thanks for the heads up Felix. I guess we need to keep that date in mind if/when we plan for this trip. Don't want to have no schedule conflict(s) by all means.

Yes, there are some things that can flop or roll your rig pretty easily, but Chris really knows the obstacles and is a great spotter.

I've heard it said (and I sort of agree) that the trail ratings at Crozet aren't necessarily for trail difficulty, but more for flop/roll over potential.

I am SAS'ing my IFS junk in the coming weekends, so will be interested in a Crozet trip in April (although Big Dogs Icebreaker is also in April).

I can't find other pics right now, but here is my junk coming through the easy line of "Body Shop" at Crozet, and a TJ taking the harder line. (Yeah, with no front locker I had to be pulled through by a couple guys on the other end of my strap).

Hmm... looks like I need to put on my ARB in the front and get 35s.

Re-read my post and think I may have come across as bashing them. Crozet is a great place to wheel. I have run the blues and they compare to Madison. The last couple times I was there I wheeled the black/reds with the big boys and Chris liked giving me hell. I am trying to keep my EB street legal and looking like a EB and am not willing to beat the body up to badly. Most of the stuff on those trails are or going to be buggies and they don't mind a flop. I'm trying to keep my glass in tack for awhile longer. The dents I do have are from there. Chris definently has more balls than I do and he is able to see a way through something I wouldn't even think of trying.

Great place and great people. The land has everything from moderate to impossible, all within site of each other. If you get bored, drive across the field and try something else.

I didn't read it that way at all.

I ran the harder blues and the easy blacks with just 32"s. But you have a lot more sheet metal to worry about. :)
