OK, I'm gonna take a stroll up to Ck this Sunday, get the new springs worked out. After a bit of relaxation in CK, we'll head out. Some may choose to take the county rd out through Bumble Bee, but, I'm planning on coming down through Minnehaha, then back down Cow Springs Rd, returning to where we started at Lake Pleasant.

This'll be a full day.

CK trail used to be rated 3.0-3.5 I know some of it has been bladed, but not sure how much. Coming back down through Minnehaha should be fairly easy.

Meeting:

8:00am Chevron station on Carefree hwy and I-17

I'm also posting this on AZBackcountry

The trail has been bladed (repeatedly) from the lake to the horse corral- about halfway to CK. Some of what used to be the challenging lines were bladed right over, and the old bypasses are now the more difficult lines. There's a few spots to have fun on, but you have to look for them. Or, you could drive just about any stock SUV without issue. I ran it about a month ago, so this info should be fairly accurate.

I don't remember where the horse corral is. Is it as far as Fort Misery along the way? Sounds from your description the blading is on the county/state section - is the NF section bladed?

OK, well, I probably won't waste the gas then. And besides, I think that the 4wd and ATV community should then boycott runs to CK altogether. Those idiots up there have been pushing for a while to blade the road, don't know if they're behind this recent work, but they (the local residents) need to understand that it is the OHV community that brings a large portion of the revenue to the town. They want to be left alone, well, I think the OHV community should do just that!!

So, I'll need to figure out another place to hit on Sunday. Open to suggestions!

It looked to me like the corral (Fort Misery?) is being used by someone, and the blading may have been done to make access easier. It's been bladed on a regular basis (at first at least every week) for over a year now, but they've never gone any farther that that area. If they wanted to, they could have bladed it all the way to CK if that was their intention.

It does seem like a lot of dirt road to travel for fudge, though.
