Crown King Saturday 5-1-10

Taking my aunt, cousin, and kid to Crown King Saturday (back road, obviously). If anyone's interested in joining I'll plan to stop at the Carefree Highway and I-17 gas station at 9 AM to meet up. If no one posts, I may not stop, so post up if you're planning to make it.

sounds like fun .ill be up there at table mesa that same weekend. base camp at teh river crossing ..and probally head out to tip top mine and toodle around in that area. but now that i have my new lift and tires i cant wait to attempt crown king

Spike - how was the day trip? Pics?

How was the trail? Is it more technical since the storms we had?

I had a guy in a stock FJ Cruiser following me, only had to hook him up once. I'd say it's still pretty tame.

it is back to pretty tame,,, it was a real good trail for a couple months. did you notice the couple areas where the trail is actually in a slightly different place now?

Yeah. I was expecting a bigger change at the water crossing, in the previous pics it looked like a huge washout, when we got there I was disappointed. The only tough part on the trail is coming out of the old miner's camp, the first 10 yards out of the wash is ugly, at least for a stock vehicle.
