First time I've seen this, and it looks great!

According to Toyota Australia's press release, the FJ Cruiser and the 120-series LC Prado share the same transmission and transfer cases too!

And since we're on the subject of gears and crawl ratios, check out this comprehensive list of axle, transmission, and transfer unit gear ratios:

From what I have seen and heard, the INCHWORM is awesome. However I just don't like the fact you are converting from full time 4wd traction to a part time 4wd when you swap it in. If my new Cruiser were for trail only, I might do something like that. However I like the extra traction I get from 4 wheels gripping the pavement on wet roads with my stock unit. If you have money to burn on two Cruisers, get one and outfit it with the INCHWORM, and keep the other stock :D

Yup, I'm with You (LandCruisers4Life) on this one. I could def. use a crawler box with out question but I'm not fond of giving up full time 4wd to do it ... I'm on the fence for sure . . .

Thanks for the Info Drexx . . .

You could always slide a crawler box in between the gear box and the stock tcase, keeping full time 4WD on the MT. I very nearly did this, but ended up swapping out the tcase for an Inchworm lefty and adding the crawler box. The only real down side to retaining the stock tcase is that the gas tank needs more mods than with the lefty+tcase...

I'm with you mirfjc. :) The other thing folks need to be aware of is that chopping the gas tank is no longer required. Jim @ Inchworm has figured out a way to heat up and reshape the front of the gas tank to clear the crawlers. This is a much simpler solution to clearancing the gas tank.
