Is everyone okay?!

Yeah... It was!!!
It'll be a busy few weeks too in it's wake. Just hoping that everyone is okay.

We just got a set of tickets to go today. Who knows if we'd gotten the tickets a day earlier.:hmm:

Ditto ^^^...we were thinking about going out today.

We wanted to go for the last 3 years. Doesn't look like we will EVER be going now.

It was a catastrophic event that I hope to never be that close to again. My sister in law and I were in a front box at the east end. At one point where the pilot was (in my opinion) trying to pull it out, the plane was pointed in our direction. In the next moment we were ducking from the debris. It happened so fast. I have heard people say that things like that happen in slow motion. I sure didn't feel that way.
A small part actually landed in the box. Two boxes closer to the incident at least one person was down, we heard from the propeller. The announcers asked that every one leave the property to enable the responders to do their job. After seeing that no one in our immediate vicinity appeared to be injured and quite honestly knowing that I am not trained in that capacity we did leave. I honestly thought the plane went into the Chairman's or Director's tent. Later in the evening I heard the plane impacted in the front row, but in fact landed in the aisle between the first and second sets of boxes about the middle of the length. Not that it wasn't bad, but it is just incredible that it wasn't any worse than it was. The latest count of fatalities I have heard is nine deaths. It will be a miracle if there are only a few more.

My heart goes out to anyone who was killed or injured and of course their families. I have witnessed a few of the crashes that have happened but this one being so close was very personal. For the spectators that were even closer it has to be devastating. It is so sad I really don't know what else to say.

Glad you're okay mike! Thanks for the recount of the event. I was of the impression that it landed on the tarmac.

Glad to hear no one (from here) was hurt.
Darcie was stuck at work late on Friday because of the crash.

Jack

Turned out a fishing buddy of ours, who also owns 3 planes and is, of course, a pilot was 50' from the outer perimeter of the blown parts radius. He's a very calm guy but another friend who saw him Friday evening said he was visibly shaken.

Quite understanding given the traumatic experience.

Some of the details emerging are just horrible. We had a kid whose dad was killed next to him.
Like jack said... Glad everyone is okay.
We had a debriefing meeting after work today re. The incident.

Guys
I have been trying without success (since I saw the news) to reach an old friend that lives in Carson City. If anyone might have the time and willingness to drop by his place I would be more than appreciative. If so, drop me a PM and I will provide his address and name.

Its got me pretty damn worried now. Its been too many days.

Thanks
Harold

He told me he missed the show and was camping since two days prior to the show till today somewhere North West of Reno way the hell up in the moutains. He named the place but I can't remember other than him saying they had no cell signal at all.

He told me had 13 voicemails from other folks just as concerned.

Thanks tho guys.
