So you think the guy realized he let it go to too cheap and now he's stalling ? I would head up there with a trailer, get a bill of sale and take possession of it. Tell them to send you the title when try get it .

I thought about that and contacted the DMV. They won't recognize it as a legal transaction without the title, bill of sale means nothing to the DMV. I even asked, what if this guy disappears to mexico, the response was that would be a legal matter, but they must have the title. The only exception is a 25 year old vehicle, I'm patient, but not for the next 5 years.

If the guy is dishonest, and what he's telling me has been repeatedly inconsistent, he could easily sabotage the truck if I started playing hardball with an attorney. What he's telling me isn't true, so is he stalling? I don't know. I'll give it a couple more weeks, more time to consider options.

I'll get the trailer empty, we can head up there and load it up.
What Will said.

So this used car lot owner (Olin, South Land Truck and Auto) tells me all the title problems are coming from Mannheim NC auto auction and the truck had to go back there while awaiting the title. I called all three location, it was a lie. I called Charleston Auto Auction and they said is was sold there and they're waiting on the title now, and no, the truck didn't have to come back to them for any reason.

This morning, the used car lot owner sends me a nasty text that by calling Chs auto auction, I froze his account and got him in trouble. I called the auction house back and asked if that were true, and Cindy chuckled and said "of course not". I texted him back and told him I knew it wasn't true, and now he said by going behind his back, that voided the contract...no sale.

I reminded him we have a contract, and breaking that contract illegal. He said his lawyer told him the contract is void (one of many lies he's been trying to tell me). He keeps offering me my money back, but I told him I intend to abide by the agreement. I can't get over the blatant dishonesty of some people.

Man! This is some pretty shady stuff going on. I can't wait to hear what happens next! A libel suit for mentioning his name on Mud?

Let's just go get it. Tim.

I would, I've tried telling him I'll pick it up and work out the title later. He kept saying it was back at the auction house in NC, but now he knows I've tracked it down to the Charleston auto auction, and that made him mad (now he knows I know he's been lying). I don't know where it is, but its not on his lot, probably back at his house.

Duck the guy let's find you another one. I may have looked at this truck have a guy who goes to the auction me maybe able to help find another one. On a side note saw a couple of decent 4x4 4runners too on CL

Think your truck was at Summerville ford for a while if it went to CHS auction

I spoke with an attorney friend and then to the local magistrate. Its probably not wise to disclose my game plan publicly, but I can say...it's game on.

I probably won't be getting this one, but now I'm in the market for a '97 locked LC. Can anyone recommend one?

That'll be tough to find at a reasonable price... @Trollhole just bought a 97 and subsequently a 200 Series. Maybe he'll let his 97 go for a decent price?

There's no way you can lose on this one, whether you get it or not.

If Marshall ever sells the 97 (don't hold your breath), our agreement was that I got first dibs! He suggested that we flip for it when we went to see it and I deferred as he was the one who got the call about it being available!

The 200 Marshall has had for over a month now and has lifted is not his, although I'm sure he wouldn't mind it!
