I have been in contact with the seller. I am waiting for more photos. especially the interior. I am a little weary though. After researching the 100's this seems to be priced a good bit lower than the 100's I have seen. it is locked too. i hope it is local so I can have Glenn look it over.
Glenn,
are there any questions that I need to ask? When I talk with 80 sellers I ask about head gasket being replaced and front knuckles.

just fly Glen out to look at it and then he can drive it back for you if it is good. (and fix anything that breaks on the way )
Brock:flipoff2:

Bessenstein ask if water pump/timing belt has been done yet (every 90k). wheel brgs repacked (every 30k) o2 sensors been replaced yet. exaust manifold are typically cracked on the older 100's, been repplaced yet. any check engine light or other warning llights on. front cv axle boots slinging grease, any ignition key column problems in the past. DOES VEHICLE HAVE A REGISTERED MASTER IMMOBILIZER KEY. VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION.
Any ignition coil issues in the past and if so how many have already been addressed. Is it equipped with AHC Suspension, likely not. has starter been replaced yet. any known engine or trans oil leaks.

I actually think its priced high for negotiations...

Here is a snapshot of the Kelly Blue Book value of the truck.

I'd offer him $9,500 based off of this and the fact that he probably wont move that truck at his asking price.

Oh wow. Thanks FJZ80.

They are located in Charleston so I should be able to bring it by and have it checked out for a charge of ...lets say..... free.

Glenn,
Do these have latch for car seats?

From a dealership I would expect to see pricing like that, but you gotta remember you can almost always knock about 1000 off that price, at least IMO i wouldn't pay more than 12k for this one at the dealership. (I'm sure these things aren't flying off the lot). Not to mention this one is a year newer and less miles than the one here in Charleston.

I also don't really see any reason why these would be fetching a premium price considering the popularity and options are less desired than the 80's. I'd still offer the guy here in Charleston $9,500 and nothing more. I think its a good price for that truck. Hell I paid $8k for mine which is a year older and few thousand more miles.

When I was looking at 100s last summer and then then year b/f that they were about the same price as now. Its weird, but I found veveral for around $10-$12K. Also, if you have kids or even a dog as Andy mentioned in another thread, get a 99+ as rear A/C was an option. You should already know enough about the differences in years if you spend any time int he 100 section. Good luck, I am still jonesing for one, but the 80 does for now. ;)

Glenn is 100% right on the timing belt and water pump. I would make sure of the vehicle history is. Ie no flood history or salvage title.

What are you doing with your 40???? PM me about it.

That is why I do push up at my office. You are not going to start with me since Belmont wont entertain you anymore

car seat

They do not have the provision for the rear anchor in the floorboard to connect the top of the carseat to. I remember this due to a situation we had at the lexus dealer when these were first relaesed. However in i believe 00 they came with a hook to attatch the rear of the seat to.
