Made in Taiwan? I wanted something nice 4 my birthday. I might as well buy the Kodiak from Lowes?

Please let me emphasize and stress the amount of Craftsman tools that I currently own and how I have supported them in-depth in the past.....:whoops:
I just wonder what's left (Made in the USA)? Please don't respond w/ "They must be competitive"
I just recieved a nice new creeper and stool for a gift, I won't look, and I don't want to know the origin.:flipoff2:

made in Taiwan nowadays is probably premium stuff compared to the mainland China's.

(There are several grades of tool boxes by Craftsman, the cheapest are pretty cheapish...:))

I bought a Craftsman "professional" drill press. Guess what. Made in China. I was a bit surprised too. It certainly wasn't cheap (in price).

When I upgraded to a top & bottom box I looked at the craftsman and the lowes boxes. I realized a much much higher quality used mac or snap on box could be bought on craigslist or ebay for the same price which is the way I went.

I looked at a replacment stainless steel set at costco. The drawer sliders were falling apart and the berrings used really tiny balls. Made the store manager aware of it and he said the quality was poor. Two years ago, thay did sell some very sweet stainless steel tool chest but no more. I should have jumped on it when those chest were available.

I know there are certain feelings about the import stuff....but sometimes it is hard to argue the quality of the harbor freight boxes.
Now, not the cheap cheap ones but the "professional" "style".
I researched for quite a while before I bought mine and couldn't be happier.
The is a good bit of discussion about them on the garage site.
