Couple of quick questions on my new 100

I just got a 2003 100 and I have a couple of quick questions:

1. I hate the automatic locking doors. The manual says see the dealer to change it. I saw some refrences here to a procedure to turn this off - but not a step by step. Any help?


2. On the navigation system - I hit display and there is a button that says "REAR OFF". I can't figure what the devil this is and the manual doesn't refrence it. Anybody?

3. I have a '97 80 w/ 96,000 mi. Green over tan - lockers - pretty good shape - all service records. Runs great - what is it worth? I'm in PA if anyone is interested

Answers:

1. I'm sure it can be turned off, ask someone like CruiserDan who probably has access to Toyota's own procedure.

2. No clue, maybe rear air off, meaning the rear control panel is not enabled.

3. '97 was a bad year, I'd say $3K for a high price, for $2500 I'll even come pick it up..

Alright - now I got me an auction going - keep those bids coming in.

I don't think it is the rear air - because it is not with the climate controls. Instead it is with the display options. Could it be for the rear DVD player - which my truck does not have?

Anyone have the procedure for turning off the locks?

Could it have something to do with the rear camera? even thou it was not offered on the 2003's. It was standard on the '04's.

Jeb, this sounds dangerous.
You could get locked in the truck with no possibility of exiting. Very dangerous!
The "REAR OFF" on the nav system could result in becoming disoriented. Again, very dangerous!
You should give me this truck before something bad happens.

And Mark is right, '97s are like Yugos - might as well park it and pull the tags (um, I know a really good quiet street where you can do this too).

I hate the auto drivers window. Knobody seem to know how to disable it. It's your rig you should be able to make it how you want it. I'll offer 10k for that 97 if its in reasonable shape..It's probably worth 18k

hmmm.... you got a '97 and an '03? good man!
Now, why on earth would you want to sell the '97? I got my '97 after we got the '03!

Always assumed the Rear off thing referred to the rear display (I don't have one either).
