I'm definitely suffering from this. I just blew the front passenger side speaker and I'm pretty sure it's because the amp is putting out way too much bass, and it's only happening when the engine is on. I'm hoping to not have to shell out +$400 to replace a factory amp, hopefully I can find a used one but have a couple of questions first that I was hoping to get answers on from anyone else who has already dealt with this.
1.) I've got the built in nav. I believe this means my only option is to replace the factory amp with another factory amp?
2.) it's only happening when the engine is on. I've seen a couple of posts on here where people mention cutting whichever wire it is that is telling the amp that the engine is running. Unfortunately no one has ever mentioned which wire this is. anyone know? this would be the ideal solution if it's that simple.
3.) It looks like it's part number 8620-0W060. Is that part number specific to the fixed version of the amp or does that part number also include the version with issues? If it does include both versions, is there some way I know when I'm searching used ones whether it's the fixed version or not?
Thanks,
Dan
