Hi guys. I'm interested in installing a body lift on my FJ60, but I've found pretty much nothing about it. anyone knows about a company o store that make this? Anyone done this before? Any Pics? Thanks.

Second question is: What would be the proper way to make sure that water does not get inside the engine? I think I got water thru the dip stick. Went thru some deep water, engine never died but water still got inside.

3rd: Im running a Weber 38. It had it when I bought the truck. Can anyone tell or show with pics where the hose that comes from the PCV valve goes attached to? and the one on the Valve cover closer to the fire wall.

Thanks

regarding the valvecover hose... if its the one i think it is, i think it runs to the air cleaner housing... its a 90 degree bend and only a couple inches long. that the right one?

and i dont have specific advice for the waterproofing thing, but i know with my baja bug i have things like a dipstick with an o ring that seals that up

There are many types of lifts. What will be the reason for yours?

Thanks nemesis. The issue is that I am runnin a Weber and the filter looks like a performance filter. My FJ60 does not have the stock air cleaner housing.

Randy. I want to gain about a half or a full inch to avoid tires rubbing against the fender, and for looks as well. I have an OME on my FJ60 already

1 inch puck

i can refer you to nocalfj60 (kevin) he had somebody custom cut some 1 inch body lift pucks for his 60.i'm sure he'll help out.send him a PM.tell him (john) viper sent you.:D

You could also add a leaf to your suspension setup if you wanted to keep the vehicle looks better without showing the insider fenders and frame but 1 in isnt too bad. It would be about the same price to put in a lift as opposed to add a leafs. but with the AAL's you get to service your suspension and keep your car running like the performance machine it is.

thanks Viper. Will contact him.

Randy: about the add a leaf. I am doing that to the front, 'cause I want the Fj60 to look leveled.

Viper, any idea on the price???

Thank you all

Depending on how much work you want to do yourself you can buy boat rollers which are made of the same material as the pucks for body lifts and do it youyrself real cheap...

he never mentioned how much it cost him,i think the guy who did it is in san jose ca.i'm sure kevin will be happy to answer any questions you have.the last time i saw his rig you can't even tell that he got 1 inch pucks under the body,i kinda like it. john

There was a nice article in toyota trails some years ago by Mark W. on "waterproofing" your engine. IIRC, he recommended using the boot from an old spark plug wire to seal the dip stick.

Below is a link to a copy of a (similar) article, although I can't find the reference to the spark plug boot. Maybe I read it in one of his tech columns...

to follow up on the valvecover vent... i think as long as its filtered air and not under vaccuum itll be fine... if you werent worried about waterproofing i might consider just a small filter on it

i think the aftermarket filter explains the pcv valve hose not goin anywhere too, cause if its the one i think it is again, it runs to the bottom of the filter housing maybe? its on the passenger side of the motor, looks like a short line that would run straight up? if so once again, filtered air not under vaccuum for that too? someone else can help more than me here im sure

when i redid all my lines with a desmog i had to remember: its just a pile of metal and rubber, if you stare at it long enough itll make sense
