I have a 89 62 with 150,000 miles on it. It has OME med suspension lift with shackle reversal. I have owned it since it was new and have always taken good care of it. Although before I moved to Colorado, I did not have access to good mechanics. I hope that is enough background info.

1. I had it in for the usual tune up and I did not have them replace my spark plug wires because I had just put new ones on. Anyhow after getting it back, the truck would idle rough at stoplights. This only happens occasionally and sometimes the truck will turn off. I took it back to the mechanic, and they could not locate the problem and said they could only do anything if the problem gets worse. Any ideas on what to do?

2. I put on the OME suspension with the shims in the rear and the vehicle shakes at 27 MPH and stops at 30 MPH. I can't seem to get a good answer out of the local shops around here. Any ideas?

Sorry to be short with the background. I have to get to work. Let me know if I need to supply any more info.

Take care.

have you tried balancing out all of the tires? Have you checked that no vacuum lines were accidentally knocked off? Replace the cap and rotor with OEM? Are they OEM wires? What are the spark plugs gapped at?

I'm a little confused on this one. A lift doesn't require shims on the rear axle. However it can require shims on the front axle. Maybe you typed rear instead of front as a typo. However, if not, and if the shims were installed in the rear axle, then the problem may be that the caster on the front axle is wrong. Take the truck to a good alignment shop and have a three axis front axle alignment done. This should get to the source of the problem.
