I was going to look at a 93 today as a possible purchase. The seller stated the tires "oversize" at 265/75-16." I thought that was actually slightly undersized but OK, same diameter.

The only online reference I could find (one of the buying guide sites) said the '93 was actually 235/75-15" like the immediately prior years, and thus smaller brakes. That sounds wrong to me; I don't see Toyota as likely to offer one engine/wheel set-up for several years then having a single "transition" year with mis-matched components.

Can someone confirm all '93s are supposed to be 275/70 16"? Slee's site seems to imply it at one point in the FAQ/buyer guide, but is not crystal clear.

Also, how do you ID the optional ABS? If it has rear discs? or is there something visual in the cockpit or a switch?

91-92 have 15" factory wheels

93-97 all have 16" wheels from the factory with 275/70R/16 tires. New 4.5 motor and bigger 16" wheels. Front and rear E-lockers offered from the factory for the first time as well.

They could of switched the wheels out on a 93 for older ones but the brakes might be hit the wheels with out spacers.

x2

and when you start the truck there should be a red ABS on the left side of dash they illuminates for a few seconds (IIRC). You could also have the seller put it 4low, this would disabale ABS and the light would illuminate (assuming the center lock is functioning properly).
