Core Change on 60/62 radiators?

Does anyone know if and when the Fj60 rad switched to a 4 core from a 3 core? Also does anyone know if it will fit into a 40?

according to radiator barn, in '89 they went from 4 core to 3. I don't know about fitting them in a 40 though.

It will take some powerfull rigging to get one in a 40.....whats wrong with a 4 row 40 radiator??

Nope. I have a diesel. Correct me if I'm wrong (which it sounds like I am), but doesn't 4 row have better cooling capacity? or is it the other way around?

4 row is better in general terms, but alot depends on the material used in the construction of the radiator and whether it is a straight through flow or a bypass design. Also, there is a difference between the diesel and petrol radiators on the 60'2 as well, the diesel has a bigger filler mouth and is a 4 core.
