I had the H/T Plus on my LC for about the first 10K miles I owned it. I thought they were a great tire. I went down some mild trails in Arkansas with them and plenty of muddy county roads around here. They should manage fine for what you described. I wouldn't trust them in deep, sticky type of mud or for an extended trip over a lot of sharp rocks. I eventually replaced them with the S/T Maxx and they've been about the perfect tire for me, but I sometimes miss the ride and extra power I had with the H/Ts.

We have the HTP (not the HT Plus but similar) and as long as the trail is fairly hardpacked you should be good (e.g. fireroad-ish). Not really sure how they do in mud but have done great in the snow but they are meant to be an all season tire not a trail tire... I would up to the AT3 if you can.
