Just as I suspected....but damn my 4Runner got beat up. That thing has been great and is ridden hard daily just as if I stole it. In fact I'm still debating on whether I could or should trade it for a 2000 - 2002 LC for my work truck. It's been that good.

BTW: whats the skinny on LC over the LX?

Is it all of the extras not working without problems?

I would say you are correct on your assumption....No, wait, this is my chance to gloat over the L/C being BETTER than those junky L/X`S !!!

Anybody get weird looks from LR owners? I can't tell whether it's "wow that's plain" or if its envy, but they seem to notice one way or the other.

That look is PURE JEALOUSY !!

I'd definitely agree on that being a root cause, glad all my gadgets work good

Another thing is the average lexus owner is more bitchy about their vehicle. I obviously frequent lexus boards as well and enjoy them but when it comes to the LX in particular, the pride in ownership is replaced by entitlement and perfection is expected. Many don't understand that just because the slogan is "The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection," doesn't mean they are there yet!!!!

Utter disgust occurs if the phonebook in someones bluetooth phone doesn't automatically sync, trouble getting enough tv screens in the vehicle, amazement at MPG of under 20, ride is too harsh, navi sucks, seats suck... ... ...

Bottom line: IH8MUD'ers don't bitch as much whether they drive LC's or LX's

Saw a guy yesterday driving a beautiful 03-04 disco. When I looked over, the p-side window was being held up by a bunch of worn out looking duct tape. Anybody get weird looks from LR owners? I can't tell whether it's "wow that's plain" or if its envy, but they seem to notice one way or the other.

There is a major street near me that is lined with "upscale" used car dealers. The lots are COVERED with used Land Rovers and Discovery's. When I was looking for my LC, there was only one on the whole street.

And the look is "damn, I knew I should have..."

We got a lot of LR dipshits in the city. The look I notice is one of smug pretention, like "look at me in my off road status symbol I'll never take off road", then they look over and see a LC and it quicly goes to "Man, I wish I was really driving a LC."
