I think I would trade for the right 40 but I'm thinking I would be better off selling and then trying to find the right 40. Whats an soa trail rig like mike worth?? I've got a set of 5 stock rims and tires and a set of stock doors. Those that have seen it know its a little rough but a reliable street legal trail rig. I'm thinking 4000ish?? sound about right???

I suppose less, maybe only worth that if I sell some of the parts off of it first and take much less for the truck

You may get your asking price, who knows until you post it for sale and see what interest and responses you get. The rule of thumb is that you never get out of them what you put in (mods, aftermarket bits, etc). Start a list and estimate prices for mods/parts based on what they're selling for in you area--bumper tires/wheels, rack.

Hmmm... Describe to me your "right" 40.

Paul,

I say keep the 62 and just save and wait for the right 40. O! unless Felix is interested. I like the half doors. Dont think I saw them last time we were together

Can you give us more specifics, like lockers, driveline mods, OBA or other goodies?

Im thinking I want to end up with a clean 40, 2 to 4" lift, v8, and good road manners that I can comfortably take on three hour trips and camp out of.

Sooo to answer your question, The 40 wouldn't neccisarly have to run, since I'm thinking v8 conversin if the body and hard top are in good shape.

I've seen 40s in the mud classifieds that people have taken apart for restoration and given up for about 2000 so I guess I'd like to find a stockish body with top and little rust for around 4000 but it doesnt need to be running.

Why ?

There is no room for third row seating in a 40

If you are really going to sell it you should bring up to the coal mine cruiser classic and put a sign in it.

^^^^ Paul will then have to build an expo trailer going from a 62 to a 40.

now your speaking my language.

how many kids could I squeeze in the back if I had the extended jump seats?

The 40 would be more my toy, seems like getting the whole family in the yota is only a once or twice a year thing.
