Well, it's a good choice of tank. I also have a Worthington 4.25lb that has less capacity but dimensionally larger, as the bottom is concave rather than round shaped. The Flame King also has a nice gauge. I thought it was fake at first because it is connected to nothing but there is a magnetic mechanism in the valve and it gives a fairly accurate reading.
 
Composit: a) believe recert required after a relative short time (say 5+ years vs much longer for metal). This is not your average recert shop. b) ur average refill station will require documented convincing to refil.

Viking (the main player) website will show how far-and-few stations are.

Aluminum tank looks interesting as never crossed my mind. Requires more research on my end.
