No sir.

I already have the bits needed for the '76 (except mine is RHD where this one is LHD, but I have ither things to obsess over) and have a real deal, factory OE '72 system from Brett's stash.

We're using the evaporator and controller, along with the harness, inside, but adapting 3FE compressor, updated condenser, expansion valve, and plumbing firewall forward.

In my opinion, throw everything but the evaporator, controller and harness away (well...save for bracket, mounts, and to use for sizing condenser/plumbing) and update.

That was what I was thinking. Just saw the shipping estimate, $200.00. It would be a bit lower without that compressor. Maybe I'll bid, but not for the "buy now price".

That's true, too! Always the big question though, how low will he go?

Who knows??

Some of these sellers think they're selling gold for a fraction of value, while others start high and are more reasonable.

Paid $400 for mine, which was tested and came from a notable Pig whisperer, so felt confident in the deal and his assessment that it was ready to run and that it would operate as well as an aftermarket unit.

Think Gumby had one not too long ago, for a valuation comparison, but think in the IL club forum, not here.

Think one has to consider aftermarket, from a cost perspective, but OE is elegant and seems fitting.

Well, he thinks it's gold. My $550.00 cap didn't even meet his reserve. You must have got the last good deal. I didn't want to go any higher, knowing that I would probably spend a $1,000.00 + by the time it was all said and done. Being that you are in the know, if you here about another one out there, please let me know.
