Best of luck to you. You can wait and but my truck in about a year and a bit:) and then you will have a winch AND a slick turbo diesel.

How much you willing to spend, It may persuad me to sell mine and go to SLEE>...:D

and if you buy ryan's bumper and winch set-up my wicked grill guard will accentuate the bumper nicely.
i know how much you like the shots of my truck with it:D

the factory winch set-up is super slick. I almost don't want to let mine when the day comes to sell my truck.

Hey Foreal, you are very positive about your factory winch.

I like mine also but want to change to synthetic rope.
Someone warned me about only using synthetic ropes on drums that will not overheat, ie only use on a winch where the motor is not adjacent/touching to the drum, otherwise when it heats up the bottom wraps of the rope will be damaged and cause rope failure...
Have you heard this?
Do you think our factory winch set ups are likely to have drum heating?
I mean, I rarely use the winch and do not anticipate mutiple pulls which create overheating. I also use a snatch block..

I want to shed the 30-40 lbs of cable weght of the front of my truck and my cable is old and kinky...

What do you think?

:hhmm:

I don't think it will get too hot to melt if your careful.
just watch your overheat button. I was told with the warns winch with your hand on the motor. When its too hot to touch stop and let it cool down.

Synthetic rope is expensive. The biggest thing is uv damage....
Its slick stuff that I would love to have but its not really needed on my end. I am yet to have a pull with my winch, heck it still has the factory coil on it.

I have a line on some synthetic line, i'll keep the forum posted.

i just really like the factory winch. I know when i go the hzj77 route i am throwing on a 8274....
