Have a 3B from a 1984 BJ60 (mfg. date 09/1983) that is suitable for parts or a rebuild. This engine ran when removed, but when increasing the RPM above idle (approx. 8 -900 rpm) it makes a knocking sound. This happened right after an oil change and fuel filter change while trying to work an air pocket out of the fuel circuit by accelerating the engine, which I don't ever recommend trying! My thoughts were the knock is a connecting rod bearing, but I haven't pulled any of the caps to confirm this. The decision was made to get a 13B-T for the truck instead of rebuilding this engine. This 3B has approx. 490K kms on it, the truck had 371K kms when I bought it. The alternator (24V), water pump, and fan assy. all came from the 13B-T, as I wanted to keep the 60 series 12V, and had replaced the water pump and fan clutch recently. The oil switch and press. transmitter (if that's what they are, might both be switches?) are also 24V and came from the 13B-T. If you'd like any more info or photos, I'll do my best to get them, short of major disassembly. Engine s/n : 0609969 block casting # 11411-58030
