Got some used Corbeau sport seats for the 80. With the corbeau mounts. The mounts are basic, and are not a perfect fit, only 3 of the holes the bolt to the floor lined up, so you will either have to bend, grind or hog out one of them on each mount. Not a big deal.

Any complications with the rear heat on yours? how tall are the seats compared to factory? What about support? Are the bottoms of the seats flat or do they scoop a little?

I live in Socal so i dont use the rear heat, but I had no clearance issues when putting them on. As you can see the brackets are not a flat plate so they have clearance for the heater stuff to poke through. The seat bottoms are angled a bit down so they feel sportier.
I took a few pics to show the hole and how it doesnt line up. And the clearance underneath.

Thanks. Bummer about the seat angle, I like mine angled up to support my legs. Might be a deal breaker on those seats

Front edge, taller at the front. So it hold you in like a bucket
I updated my other post and specified, these are Corbeau "Sport" seats. They are buckets, and they are higher in the front, when I said they are angled down, I meant towards the back, so they keep you in nicely. Look at the pics where you can see the center console from the side. It gives you an idea of the angle. Being buckets they make you have to overcome the side bolsters to get in though. Luckily I just put my Bio step sliders on!

2010 Camaro SS Cloth Seats. I have a touchy back and am a bigger guy, 265 pounds, and these have been a great mod for me.

Okay, game on. This is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!

How do you like them compared to the stock seats? I've seen a few installs from people but very few actual reviews. I hate my stock leather seats, particularly how I feel like I'm sitting ON them versus IN them. I'm sure some of that has to do with the age but some of it is the angle of the back or the height of the headrest.

Also, anybody put suspension seats in their 80 (eg. Mastercraft, PRP, etc) recently? Curious about clearances and if the seating position changes much.

What are people useing for seat belts? Specifically the female end that bolts to the seat. The original ones are too short and I haven’t had much luck finding a replacement from another vehical that works right.

Great thread here as IMO seats are one of the few significant shortcomings of the 80. I perused various seat threads before I found this one today.

I, too, like the looks of the Disco II seat, particularly because they come with ARMRESTS! Can a power seat be installed and seatback-adjustable in a truck with factory manual seats?

I used the 80's receivers. The bolt pattern is standard on all U.S. seats, so the same bolts work. The camaro seats also have the receiver bolted to the seats, I just had to bend and straighten the mounting bracket.

And I swapped the driver and passenger belts, as the passenger belt is something like 6" longer.

I like them so far, but keep in mind that I do not use my 80 that often. I put about 100 miles on them thus far driving around LA and running errands. The biggest difference is getting into the truck since you have the side bolsters that hug you. I just put step sliders on tbe truck so I can climb on them then drop into the seat like you would in a sports car. I am only 5ft 9 and 190. The cloth is not as slippery as the leather too. Hope this info helps

My truck is only used to get me from the yard where I park my 18 wheeler and back home. And to go mall crawl. So usually it would be about 3k a year miles.

Im going to take a shot at it, they are inbound. I like the corbeus but they arent made all that well.

@RFB, what didn't you like about the Corbeau Sport Seats? I have the GTSii seats and love them, except for 3 things:
  1. No lumbar support (which can be added)
  2. Head rest is too far back (I assume it's designed for use with a helmet)
  3. the thigh guards break down pretty fast if you drag ass getting in/out of the seats (I always stand first, but it gets a little tiring having to remind everyone riding shotgun)
I killed my 80 with the Corbeaus in it last month (turned it over) and I'm about to start a new build with swapping all the bolt-on mods over right away. Since the frame and powertrain are all good on my wrecked 80, I was thinking of chopping and caging it and replacing the first and second row seats with something like the Corbeau Sport with neoprene covers, lumbar supports, and taco warmers. I'd be interested to hear from @RFB and @Fj81 about their thoughts on the Corbeau Sport seats.

Also, @Fj81 mentioned issues with the alignment of the Corbeau brackets with the factory bolt holes. I had the same issue with mine and found that if you get the 3 bolts that do line up started, you can have someone sit in the seat and help torque it in the required direction so that you can get bolt #4 started.

UPDATED - Still on the hunt. These got sold out from under me....#$#%

@2fpower what brackets did you use? I have a line on a pair of '90 911 seats for
nottalottamoney....Planted? (no, those are for aftermarket seats only right?)
(I'll prob pay more for planted brackets than these anyway)
These have the slides.
Were you able to bolt on female seatbelt buckle? Assume they wired up fine?
