I'm looking at a 2006 LX470 this weekend. The truck was in NJ for three years and I wonder if any of you all know where on the truck is most susceptible to rust? I will look over the whole rig, but if I need a mirror or must contort to see an area I may miss it. Thanks.
In the salt belt it's all over the truck.
Look at the bottom of the top tailgate, next to the handle. The underside of the floor at the very back. The rear crossmember - inside the rear bumper. Inside the rear wings, take off the tail-lamps to check at the bottom of that cavity. (Two screws, then push the lamp straight out towards the side (opposite of the two screws))
On a 2006 it should be poss to stop further rust with Lanolin-oil.
