I live right on the border of BC and Washington, and am going to put a deposit on a ‘25 1958. The one coming locally in Feb is what Toyota Canada calls “Brown Sugar”. It looks to be the same color as “Meteor Shower”. I’m not sure why they would change names for two side by side English speaking countries, but it seems they have. Unless someone can confirm they are actually different colors? The website photos are of course not much help as the color is one that looks different depending on lighting.

Top one is from US site. Bottom one from Canadian does seem a little more brown, but the wheel trims also look lighter, and the black plastic will be the same on all colors.

I saw the "Brown Sugar" color reference months ago but didn't find any factual data on it. My conclusion is that is was the same as Meteor Shower but didn't find proof. I wanted Traildust so my motivation was low to research.

Can confirm, meteor shower and brown sugar metallic are the exact same colors.

When the 250 was first launched, the Monroney labels had the brown sugar metallic and meteor shower color designations, but they were the same color.

Personally, they should have stuck with brown sugar metallic, but I digress.

I live right at the border on the 395, so you might see my Brown Sugar in Spokane soon;)

Oh, and I saw a “trail dust” LC on Sunday. It should be called “baby diarrhea”. I guess it’s supposed to be reminiscent of the old mustard color on the FJ40s?

I've seen 3 LC's in the wild so far all of them around the Duluth, Mn. area. All three were in the Trail Dust color. My first thought was what we all used to call Baby $hit Brown.

And is it the same color as “meteor shower”?
Yes - it was advertised that way by the dealer too.

So, actually - I lied, I just pulled out the window sticker and it says meteor shower. I definitely saw brown sugar printed on something I received though at some point along the way though.

“Sugar” is now the nickname I have bestowed upon her.

So my dealer has a white one in the pipeline with my name on it, but are looking to see if they can get me a “BS”. Stay tuned for updates once they figure out what they can get me soonest. We have a trip to Santa Barbara planned for late Feb and hope to have the 1958 ready for that trip. I have 275/70-18 Toyo RT Trails on Method wheels on my Sequoia that I will bolt on. Wife might want the Toyos swapped on to the stock wheels, but that is a discussion for another day.
