I am looking to paint the replacement windshield frame for my 62 FJ40- is there a color code anywehere? Didn't see one on the firewall engine/VIN ID plate. is there another plate anywhere on these old trucks with a paint code? Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks, Gary S

Paint code on a plate No that not happening. We have only been able to find what we think are paint codes for a 64. The links on the top of the page in the 40/55 forum should have a link to a thread with those codes.

Curious never heard back on my email. Is your replacement windshield from a hard top or soft top model? Early years these were two different windshield frames.

Paint

Pulled the glovebox door off the 62 today to try to get the best possible surface for a color read. My cruiser friend Steve Colavito works for Colours here in PA and will have the paint analyzed for best match. I am really unsure as to whether this is an off white or a light tan- we'll see what the analysis says. In all honesty the WS frame isn't going to match anything else on the truck anyway- but it's where I will start, might never paint anything else on the truck but then again, maybe I will. Stay tuned......
