Considering picking up a small portable generator (1000W plus) to use in the back country for powering up the LC's pre-heat equipment. Has anyone used on of these in -30C weather? Whats the best one for cold weather starting?

I've used my Honda EU1000i down to around 10F with no troubles, what is that like -12C? It started on the second pull which is normal.

If you want to spend some bucks you can buy a diesel fueled heater that will directly heat up your coolant. Will warm both engine and interior. Costly, but much more convienent than having to carry a seperate supply of gas for a generator. Once installed, you just flip a switch, and the heat begins to flow. It is fueled driectly from your vehicle's tank.
