I have been having a hard time getting my rig started lately. this all started when the exhaust blew out a few weeks ago. It would take 3-5 attempts at starting before the truck would actually idle without having to pump the gas. It sounds like the starter and battery are fine. At first I thought it was the lack of back pressure but now that I have the exhaust fixed its still doing the same issue. Once the vehicle is warmed up there are no issues. The check engine light does blink but it goes away after the truck warms up. No cel codes actually show up on the scanner even during the blinking time. Anyone else have this issue?

I was thinking exhaust or fuel but am not sure now.

Figured out it was mostly related to exhaust leak when installing my mid pipes in 32 degree weather at night. Once I took them off and replaced them the rough start went away. I also had a bad PCV Valve and the hose coming off it popped off and was leaking vacuum everywhere. Double whammy.

I've had similar issues, my muffler was shot, it rotted like my gas tank, however, it was replaced and I still have a hard time starting her first thing in the morning.

Where is the PCV valve located? I'm on the road right now away from my manuals and I have a setup much like yours....

Thanks,

It's up front by the oil fill cap. It has a tube that runs from the intake to the drivers side valve cover.

Having a hard time starting rig once its warmed up to operating temp? This truck does have a TRD supercharger on it, fairly high milage and all 8 of the coils replaced with factory units..

Might try and run a can of injector cleaner through it and see what happens.
