So yup, just got my scanner and so happy I got the codes read and then changed out coil pack #3 in minutes. come around the otherside to change #8 because I gad two codes for coil packs and . Do I really need to pull the airbox to change the coil packs on the passenger side of our '98 100 series (less #2 of course)? There has to be a better way, but I don't think there is. I already pulled the two bolts on the airbox, I'm guessing I have to just start popping hoses off until it's free. Had to give up the ghost because it got dark but need to get it buttoned up first thing in the am. I gotta get a FSM...

Thanks!

Well it appears I do have to pull the airbox to get at those coils on the passenger side. I'm waiting for double digit temps before I go out and start pulling on those plastic and rubber pieces so hopefully they don't break. I just thought I would answer my own question in case anyone finds this thread at a later date wondering...

You can use a small screw driver or something small to put in between the hose and plastic pieces to break the hose free. Have fun and scrape your knuckles. I think they have a crew that sharpen corners under the hood of cars. :-)

I did use a small screw driver and it did help but what helped the most was letting the sun hit the engine bay for an hour and letting the temp hit 15* F. Warmed the plastic fittings, the rubber hoses, my hands, and then my spirits. Really nothing too difficult with a little sunshine . Sorry to bother everyone with a ridiculous question, I had a time constraint so I was trying to get all the info I could. Thanks again!!!
