I have a 2003 LC with 168,000 miles. I have never replaced the coil packs and I think the spark plugs were replaced once. The truck runs great overall - no issues with stalling, starting or anything else of the sort.

I was wondering if replacing the coil packs and spark plugs when they still (seemingly) work fine on a truck with as many miles as mine, will restore some power and mileage? Did any of you experience an "Aha" moment after replacing coils and plugs?:hhmm:

I would say replace your packs only as necessary when they go out but replace your plugs on a routine schedule. I changed mine at 76k miles and they looked pretty good still. I dont know how badly the coils would get stressed if your plugs were shot but that could play a role in coil life if it has to work harder for every time it has to fire a plug.

Replace the coils when they fail. I noticed no difference when changing the plugs. Easy enough to pull and check, though.
