Good points Onur. I've done this drive a couple times in the last 5 years and made the drive from Denver to Columbus non stop in 18 hours...but that was in a pickup truck.

I can hang at 65 all day with my v8 and not worried about that. We have relatives in Denver and from there...it's an easy day to Moab. Like 3 hours from Denver to Grand Junction IIRC.

Nick's idea of pulling a military trailer behind the 40 is what I'm after and camping would be a must in MOAB. At least for me and Rosa.

We talked about it last night and we are going for it. Tentative Rosa will fly to Denver and I'll pick her up there. We will spend one day in Breckenridge alos on the way back.

I cleared everything with work and family last night...So technically...we are going.

And driving the 40 out makes the trip even more exciting for me.

I'm looking at this now, too. Not sure if the timing will work out for me yet, but I'm starting to budget for it.

My old man is a foreman at a used machinery dealership in Cincy. He's always dealing with smaller hauling outfits and that business is definitely not above kickbacks, if you know what I'm saying. I could ask him about pricing, etc, for a car hauler out to Utah if anyone's interested. Not sure if it would produce a better price than already listed but options sure don't hurt.

That would be mighty kind of you sir. The wife and I are 100% going and have made the plans with the relatives and arranged a house sitter.

Could have a nice caravan goin' here. Colorado is sooooo beautiful.

I'd like to lay over one night on the way out in Breckenridge if possible. Definately will on the way back. Breck is kick ass..

You guys should come out. This will be the 10th anniversary of Cruise Moab, and we are planning the finest event yet. :)

We have one going for sure, a couple on the fence pending some arrangements and cost issues.

But have a feeling it will all work out. :grinpimp:

Things are looking good for making this trip in the new HJ47 that will be at my doorstep this month:D

What kind of time frame are y'all thinking for the trip out and the trip back?

I'll speak for myself here.

Leaving Saturday April 28th for a 2 day drive to Denver to pick up my wife and daughter. Spending a day in Breckenridge then driving over to Moab Tuesday afternoon from Breck

Weds-Saturday Night...the event.

Sunday, drive back to Drop of the Wife and Kid and keep truckin' back to Ohio. Plan to be gone almost 2 weeks myself, the rest of the family about a week or so tops.

Steve,
Congrats on the new addition to the stable!

Is this a new to Ohio truck, or the same HJ47 that's been kicking around central OH since the late 1980's?
