Hello, I know this is definatly not hard-core, but the normal FJ40 forum doesn't seem to recognize it. Plus I bet you guys have been under enough rigs to give me some helpful input.

Right now I have a '67 FJ40 with a chevy 350, sm465, and a stock toy case. Both my master and slave cylinder are leaking. My master appears to be toyota, but my slave doesn't match up with corresponding FJ40 years. My slave has the two mounting bolts that straddle (top and bottom) and run perpendicular to the slave's body. It seems a replacement toyota slave has mounting mounts that are perpendiulcar, but both below the slave. Here's some pictures.

My master...

Any of you guys recognize it? Thanks alot.

kinda looks like 85 chevy truck slave

Thank you very much for the replies, I'm having a very difficult time figuring it out. I just want to be able to drive it!

shelfboy1, what model pickup? I searched under advanceautoparts.com and here's what the slave supposibly looks like. It appears to bolt on parrallel with the rod. I searched the C10-c30 and the k10-k30 w/ various engine sizes.

Well I pulled it out and after work tomorrow I'm stoping by a transmission place to see if they can help. If I come back empty handed I'll take some better pictures and post them up.

Did you have a toyota tranny? See I would have no problem doing that, but I just don't know if it has enough throw for my chevy tranny. I would much rather go that route so the master and the slave were matched together.

Oh and with the help of my buddy at advanced auto, we pinned it down. After about 20 minutes of searching I just took a shot in the dark and said, "Hey, aren't Nissan's sorta similar to toyota's?" And sure enough, there was my slave... it should be here in 3 or 4 days, then I can match it up right next to each other.

Glad you got a buddie who works at the local store.. the guys at my local stores freek out when i tell them i got a chevy engine/tranny w/ jeep transfer case, in a Toyota FJ40

Yeah my buddyis big into the CJ's so we've always got along. But I decided at the last minute to take a different route. Since my master is leaking, who knows how old the lines are, and if the nissan slave should even be in there... I called up JTOutfitters and ordered up their master through slave combo. They even have a bracket (unfortuunatly not on the site yet...) that supposibly bolts onto any chevy transmission (or bellhousing) and was developed around the toyota slave that's in the kit I bought. So basically, it's the entire link from the land cruiser clutch pedal all the way down to the chevy clutch. I made the guy said it 3 times that this is EVERYTHING I need and was intended to work with the chevy transmission without troubles. Well I sure hope so, seems almost to easy.

Anyone have or heard of this setup?

Post up pics when you get the kit... I've been trying to picture this in my mind and not quite getting it yet. Luke
