I wanted to post here before I put it in the 60 section cause I may be looking for recommendations in VA…

In the last 2 weeks or so I have noticed my truck pulling slow up hills. Engine revs up fine but really long time to engage and pull when releasing the clutch. Started with only 4th gear, not slowly worked it’s way to all. Yesterday did it on a flat road. Once I am cruising, say 60 mph or so, no issues (yet). I think it’s the clutch.

Starting at least complex to most, what should I be looking for? Fluid levels look fine. I don’t see an clutch inspection cover under my h55 transmission to peek through.

Previous owner says clutch was just replaced, would have been around 3 years or so now. Looking through other posts here, seems like I may want to hire it out if I can’t dedicate the time or have a transmission Jack (if it needs replacing).

Thoughts? Thanks.

Any places I should look first? From what I have seen online it’s possible oil is leaking from back of engine onto clutch plate which can cause it to slip. Shouldnt I have an inspection port somewhere?

Make sure the slave cylinder rod is not tight when the clutch is not pushed in.
If you drop the lowers clutch cover you can look up in there.

Adding this photo from the manual since it doesn’t mention anything about a clutch cover in the “inspect clutch disk” remedy. I’ll look again and also look to see if the slave rod is tight or not. Thank you. I will post back when I am able to get to my truck.

There is a big cover on the bottom of the bell housing held on with 6? 10mm headed bolts.

Just got back from vacation tonight and crawled under her. I don't see a cover under the bell housing although it does look like a bolt is missing. I will try again to look in daylight tomorrow...

Additionally, the slave arm was tight, I couldn't move the arm under the rubber boot with my hand.

Maybe the FSM will show me the way tomorrow.

That is not what I was expecting to see. That’s a different bell housing than I’ve seen. Yes I would think the FSM would help.
