Luckily only 1 block from home. Lurched a few feet after I tried to go from a complete stop, then nothing. Clutch goes all the way to the floor, lots of fluid on road, relatively clear and odorless. I hope I only lots fluid from somewhere simple. Less than 20K on new clutch. Looking for help on where to start looking for the problem.
Thanks.

Slave cylinder problems? Was the slave cylinder replaced along with he clutch 20k miles ago? If not, and that is the problem, it is a cheap and easy fix when compared to another new clutch.

After I RTFM, I saw the what it called the release cylinder. I am wondering, is the slave cylinder the same thing, as there was no other cylinder shown in the FSM. The release/slave is my best guess, no fluid leaking out of the resevoir or the booster. Replacing the cylinder looks to be straightfoward, but if there are any tips/tricks, please let me know.

BTW, about a month ago my water pump went out as I pulled into my driveway, and now I lose my clutch 1 block from home. I must be living right.

Release is the same as slave. Easy to replace. Lots of us have done this. Recommend replacing both the clutch master and slave together. OEM are about $100 for both.

Pretty cool that it failed so close to home. You must be living right!

Thanks for the tip on the master. Will do.

I just did mine a couple weeks ago, master had been leaking for some time, $150 Genuuine Toyota from C-Dan...real easy job just will need someone to pump pedal to bleed system when your done.

C-Dan is the man for parts. Saved so much with him that I'm almost broke. Becauase of where I work I can get about a 30% discount at NAPA, but I would rather spend a little more and still save some on OEM parts.
