Maybe we can have a work day some time. I would offer my yard, but it's not very exciting losing nuts and bolts in the grass.

Does anyone have or have access to a rack(s) or an outfitted garage for a possible club work day?

Post your thoughts...

I have an acre mostly cleared behind my house, not that ya'll would want to come down here... but it is an offer. :)

Thanks! Maybe we can do something down there one day in the future.

My driveway is open, so let me know if someone needs a work day.

I am just about two miles north of the Galleria in Hoover.

I spent 3 hours at the on post shop today. It's pretty well equipped and has lots of bays. I could see if we could somehow arrange to use it if you guys were interested.

Here's the site for it. It would be perfect to get a bunch of work done all at once.

Mr. Driver, I'd be down to paint if possible, in that paint bay. I'm using rattle can but need a better environment than my driveway! Plus I could use the excuse of going to see my mother.

Hawk,

I guess you are talking about Ft. Rucker. Don't you have to go through a safety class before they will even let you in the shop? Don't know how they are about letting non-DOD employees on post and then access to the auto-shop. I work on the Arsenal and there's a shop up here too, but I've never bothered to "join" or take the safety class. I'm guessing that would be a real challenge for non military or non-DOD civilians to get access.

 Maybe we have Hawk do all the work and we just watch? :hhmm: Nah.....

Well, no I didn't attend any class. And I did see a lot of non DOD folks using the facility while I was there. Like I said, if you guys are interested then I'll find out the details. There are always exceptions if you talk to the right people. ;)

Interested in a fully supplied garage...don't twist my arm!

Talked to the authorities about having a couple extra guys come on to work in the shop today. I have to type up an exception to policy memorandum and he'll approve it. I'm just trying to figure out how to word it and how ensure they don't feel like they're getting abused. It's $5 an hour per bay so having extra customers in the shop for a day shouldn't be something they get their panties in a bind about.

I'll report back, but I'm just trying to envision how we could all get this arranged onto one day and have it a day I'm free to be around to "sponsor" my guests. We'll figure it out but yeah, I need to know a number of how many of you guys actually want to drive to Fort Rucker so I can give an idea of the number on this memo.

really wishful thinking for me to get down there. It would cost more to get down there than it would for a mechanic to do work.
I'm actually going to be working in the driveway with a few yota owners tomorrow... if he bought the parts... gettin' ready for the crawl.

That's what I'm thinking. It would be quite the haul for you guys up north.

Oh, I'm supposed to include the names of my guests in this memo. So if you think you're within range then just give me a PM with your name and we'll get you into the shop. It doesn't have to be an organized club work day, these facilities are always available.

Thanks!

I would love to work down there one day, but my cruiser is in pieces right now.

My "newly discovered" fuel tank leak has added more "unplanned" work to get done on my truck before the crawl. :bang:

New tank and fuel lines will, hopefully, be here by Friday. I am looking forward to not changing my fuel filter so often! :D

Was that the problem at GSMTR?

That was the fuel filter. All the trash that got stirred up in my take after 3 days of riding must have cogged it up pretty good.

Remember that sound that was coming from my truck that we couldn't ever find...bend skid plate.
