Folks, it's getting close to that time of year where we elect new officers (November). As for me, with 3 of my kids in scouts, sports, etc... and a 2 year old to chase around, I just don't have a lot of free time these days. I have been doing a lot of scout camping and it's a time in my life that I'm cherishing, however, it means less cruiser camping and less bandwidth for the club. As a result, I will be stepping down as president for the foreseeable future though I'll still lead a trip or two.

The positions are:

President: Open
VP: Presently Tim
Social Media: Open
Treasurer: Presently Bud.
Secretary: Open

Just for informational purposes, the club bylaws outlay committees that the club likely used to have. If someone feels inspired, even if a committee of one, these are the committee roles:

2. Present committees are:
A. SAFETY
B. Membership
C. CONSERVATION
D. HISTORIAN
E. NEWSLETTER
3. Delegates:
A. TLCA Delegate (presumably for the monthly calls which have been attended by me, Tim and Shanda this past year.)

Whether you hold a position or not, can you please post up if you are interested in a given position? I will put up a poll after the November meeting, have it close after the December meeting, and officially announce the new leadership at the Christmas party.

I'll be officially stepping down as well so that I can focus on my dad.

Understood. Thanks for all of your help this year and I hope he gets better.

Frank, thank you for your leadership! Miss going to the monthly meetings and the cruiser talk with everyone.

Hope the new executive members are as passionate as you are!

Thanks for your leadership and service over the last several years Frank!
And thank you Shanda for all your work on the social media side of things getting the word out!
I'm happy to remain treasurer for another year, unless someone else is craving the position.
Let's hope we get some more volunteers to step up and keep the club moving forward.

Bud, thanks for staying on board!

It's been my pleasure being president! I had the chance to be club president for a few years back in the 2015-16 time frame and enjoyed it very much. We have had some excellent leaders over the years and I am sure we will have some more. I truly think if we can get someone who has more time and I do and can get the activity levels back up we can get back to where we were pre pandemic when we were doing tons of runs and events.

I think if that can happen wit will help pick up more 250 series folks and grow the group.

Bumping it up. We will discuss this tomorrow. I am hoping we have some folks interested in stepping up.

Thank you Frank for all you've done these last few years. I can attest folks that without volunteers clubs die. Simple as that. I saw last week that one of the oldest ham radio clubs in California, the Southern California DX Club (not a club I was in) sadly threw in the towel after 71 years and voted to disband. Why? Because no one was willing to volunteer as a club officer. Like this and pretty much any club that's been around a while, the members rotate through as club officers every few years. And it's not like it is a lot of work, really just an hour or two here and there and a little bit of talking at the meetings.

Frank, I am in for prez. I am willing to make great effort to take this club forward, with some guidance of past leadership of course. I have some ideas to help expand club membership. Very excited to keep our community intact and growing.

Unfortunately I won't be at the next meeting. I will be in Phoenix at Westcott Designs for a rig build on our Tundra.

Way to go Hamilton, learn it, know it, live it, I hope you had a hell of a piss Arnold.

Thanks Hamilt0n! I spoke with Tim and he is down to stay on as VP. I really think having someone leading the charge with more time to do runs is what we need. I will go on the runs that I can.

I will lend a hand as needed and get you all of the info I have on my Google drive folder.

So basically we have 4 officers running unopposed. I'll just put the poll up to check that box (pun!). Tim can't make this meeting so we will toast them at the Christmas party.

Frank
