Both the club's president and the secretary / treasurer are in the medical field and as you can guess, are quite busy. Obviously club activities and future planning are currently on the back burner due to the Caronavirus. Hopefully in the not so-distant future we can plan our first club get-together.
STAY SAFE OUT THERE .......

An update from the club's Facebook page .........

Red Hills Land Cruiser Club is a group for the Land Cruiser enthusiasts in the South Georgia, North Florida, Alabama region to meetup, hangout, and discuss Land Cruisers. We are limiting this group to only members within a 200 mile radius to keep it local. Thanks
Email: redhillslandcruiserclub@gmail.com.
Send me your contact info to this email address if you are interested in joining this club so I can add you to the newsletter. Thanks.

It appears that some of the States including Georgia are considering reopening so hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel. As soon as it's deemed safe we'll try to schedule our first casual get-together.

CLUB LOGO AND T-SHIRT UPDATE:
The vendor that will be producing both products are based in PA and it's one of the states that has not opted to "open up" yet so everything's on hold. Hopefully I can provide more information shortly.

PROGRESS REPORT:
The board members had their first virtual meeting last night via Zoom Video. It was decided that we'll keep the annual dues on the low end (minimums are set by the TLCA) which will be in the $10.00 - $20.00 range. The TLCA guidelines require the board to vote on new members so the club's president will be reaching out to those that have expressed an interest in joining for additional information. You can also be preemptive by contacting Dr. Trey Edwards at "redhillslandcruiserclub@gmail.com" to make sure you're are on the list.
It was determined that the club decals will be sold at cost plus shipping if it's required. (guessing in the $3.00-$4.00 range)
Thanks
***** Red Hills Land Cruiser Club is a TLCA sanctioned club and therefore you must be a member of the TLCA to be considered for membership in Red Hills.

WE ARE OFFICIALLY LISTED...... :)
A couple of additional notes ...... The published email address is temporary. The permanent and preferred email address is redhillslandcruiserclub@gmail.com.
Although the club is listed as a Georgia club we are proud of the fact that we also represent the Big Bend area of Florida as well as Southeast Alabama..

Hopefully by now, everyone who expressed an interest in joining has received a membership application email.
If we overlooked anyone please let us know.

....... A gentle reminder ......
In order to participate in club activities 2 actions are required:
1) Be a member, in good standing of the TLCA. ***
2) Having already paid your club dues to KIm Smith (club's secretary / treasurer)
*** Kim will also need your TLCA membership number.

Although this club is less than 2 months old and Covid19 has presented some unforeseen obstacles, we've already exceeded 20 members and the numbers keep growing.
Thanks guys .....

**** While not trying to beat a dead horse, because we are a TLCA sanctioned club, in order to be a member you first need to be a member, in good standing of the TLCA and have paid your local club dues which are only $10.00 (the minimum set by the TLCA).

In response to several emails, Rob Smith of Odd Iron Off Road of Thomasville, Ga. is indeed an authorized ARB dealer.

With the uptick in COVID 19 cases it seems prudent to curtail any club activities at least for a short period of time. Hopefully the number of cases will subside quickly and we can start planning our next event.

While we’re on the subject of the “next event” we could use some input from the membership.
Most will agree that our first meeting venue had 3 key ingredients ... character, food and most importantly, shade. If you have something comparable in your neck of the woods we would like to hear about it. The goal is to move our meeting places on a regular basis so no one person is faced with a long drive each time.
Thanks

I haven’t been there in years but the Fish Camp at lake Iamonia might be cool a location. I’ll have to see if they are still open. It’s still a drive for some, but it’s between tally and tville.
I’ll keep thinking of others. Maybe a beach spot?
