I have an '84 bj60. I replaced the regulator in my alternator. The starter is clearly working fine by the sound of it. For some reason it won't engage and actually start now. I've included a picture of the part just to be sure we're all on the same page. Please help!

While waiting for responses I did the logical thing and put the old part back in. Now it started, and the symptoms of a bad regulator are gone. I'm still hoping for input on what is going on. So if you have any insight please share it. When it started it was just dumb luck. There was a break in the wire from the battery to the 12v glow relay that must have made the connection long enough to work. It wouldn't start again this morning (2020-08-25) so I got the volt meter out and found it. If I can figure out how to delete this thread I will since it seems extremely pointless now...
