Anyone had one go bad on a hundred series yet?
I had a little bit of a scary moment yesterday:
The wife and I were going out to lunch yesterday and turning into a parking lot I had a bunch of abnormal "clicking" coming from inside the steering wheel itself, followed by the steering wheel literally jambing up and not turning or sticking if you will.. This happened kinda off and back on as we were making 3 point turns to get into a parking spot. When it jambed up it felt as if I forced the wheel to turn it would break something significant.
Fast forward to after lunch, the SRS light came on and is now staying on, and ive lost all controls, horn, cruise, volume etc.. On the wheel. However, now the wheel is turning fine, it has not jambed up again.
After a little searching it sounds pretty tell tale of a clockspring, ( lots of 80 series guys) I was just a little surprised to not see this mentioned here before..
Ive reached out to Beno, I figure 150 to 200 for a new OE clock spring.. Not the end of the world.
Anyone confirm or deny these symptoms on a hundred?
