Working on a customers truck (2000 4 runner limited) It has the nice climate control options. It seems the controls have a mind of their own. It changes modes with permission etc. Does anybody have any ideas on where to start with this? Is there a seperate computer for the cliimate controls? Thanks for your help.

The head unit, as I've heard it referred to as. Is a self contained unit. I have also seen a few threads elsewhere that have indicated issues with them. Do a google search for 3rd gen 4runner climate control head unit.
Anyone know how to change the bulb that lights up the climate control display LCD?

It's all contained in the control unit. The auto ac ones are not cheap either.
Climate Module
Did you ever resolve this problem with the climate control module. I am looking for a module that is not working so I can scavenge the front black plastic trim that screws onto the front of the module. let me know if yours is available?
