I have been a car guy for years, but have decided to finally start a search for a nice honest fj40. Below is a list of what my perfect FJ would be, so let me know what you has some or all of the below. Looking for a trick I can jump in and go while slowly tinkering and making it own. Under $30k
Any period correct color OK but not white. Original paint that has survived well or repainted is fine in original color.
Factory steel wheels and hubcaps
2F engine preferred, but v8 swap possible for the right rig
Original appearing interior (no aftermarket seats front or rear
Barn doors
2 .5 inch lift
No rust
Full cage or original roll bar ok
No diamond plate
Any rust repairs had to be done well ( no filler in place of metal )
Would prefer a rearend geared more for highway speeds than rock crawling.
Soft top is OK but MUST also have hard top.
Rebuilt motor or at least one that shows good compression and is healthy.
