Hey guys -

I'm organizing a wheeling trip for us to Rock Run ORP. We need 15 rigs to make it a CLCC event. Who's in?

DATE BOOKED: June 14th, 2009

The 2009 wheeling season is just around the corner here in the Northeast. Rock Run Recreation Area and the Western PA 4x4 Trails Advisory Committee would like to thank you for making 2008 a successful first season at the park. We have learned quite a bit in our first year and hope to make some changes in how we will operate in 2009.

Unlike last year, our open rides will not require a pre-registration. The committee will, however, still provide trained guides for each open trail date. For clubs who wish to have a club-only trail ride, we will gladly accept your group of 15 or more trucks. If your club would like to join up with another club, please go to our website at http://wpa4xtrac.org and join the forum. Introduce yourself and inquire about other clubs.

The fee schedule will remain the same as 2008. Daily fees are as follows: $25 for driver. $5 per passenger. Camping is $10 for a group of 6 individuals (camp sites are quite close, so you can camp with your whole group).

Please reconsider your date. July 11 is the weekend of the Coal Mine Cruiser Classic and most members who wheel their trucks will be at that event at Rausch.

The other date available is June 14th. How does that work for everyone?

June 14th is the weekend of the 4Runner Jamboree at Rausch. While not a LC event I am guessing that it will draw quite a few club members. I am planning to attend. I have never heard of Rock Run but it must be really popular with the ATV crowd or someone that they are booked up for the season already. Have you ever been to the park? Looking at the map I think they only have about 7 miles of trails open to OHVs while there are 80 plus miles for ATVs or dirtbikes. Reading the Web site it looks like they primarily cater to ATVs and dirt bikes but I may be wrong.

I'm working with the Assistant Trail Director at the FJ Bruisers, who has a good relationship with the park - they have other stretches of trails available for us to run, and they've guaranteed me a full day's worth of trails - from green, blue, up to black.

Those are the only two Summer dates available. We could do something in the fall, but hey - I'd rather try doing one in the summer (even if everyone can't attend) and a second run, maybe somewhere else, in the fall.

Of the two, it seems like June is the better to go with, so let's go with that. I obviously won't be upset by anybody who'd rather go to the 4Runner Jamboree.

How long does it take you to drive out there (at FJ40 speed 60-65)?

Well, I haven't been out there before - this'd be my first time. But Google Maps says ~4 hours from Arlington, VA.

Go with the June date and if you find that it is worth the drive we can book another this Fall. Otherwise we can do a club trip to Rausch Creek in the Fall.

That sounds like a good idea!

Any interest in this?

Buehler?

Bump-diddly-bump-bump

Nobody is interested in going to this? At all? Anybody?

The EC4RJ is in early June, CMCC is in July, the Fall Crawl is probably in October so how about August or September?

How could I forget the Pig Run? Thanks Bubba, see you next week.

What's this? Do your wives only allow you all out to play one weekend a month? :grinpimp:

Nothin' says you can't get muddy two weekends in a row!

Well I'm just pussy whipped but I can't tell you what Dan's excuse is! Who wants to get muddy anyways?

Pick another date and invite ALCA and BBRC to attend.

jmaiella, perhaps you're on the wrong site, this site is 'we HATE mud'.

Props to Bobbo for throwing out the slams indescriminately.

Well a little mud here and there..........

covers up my dents and rust!

Try telling Bob you'll call him "Cowboy" at the campsite. He'll sign up in seconds flat.
