Guy told me he would take $11,500 for it after wanting over $14,000 originally. Very clean looking...he said he put a new water pump, fan clutch, belts, hoses, timing belt, etc on it as scheduled.

1999 Toyota Landcruiser Land Cruiser Excellent Condition

Owners words:
Timing chain, water pump, antennea replaced, other routine maintenance. I can get you the name and number of the mechanic that does all the work. We've never had any problems with it. I am starting a business, and so we've decided to downsize to something a little more fuel efficient until I get the business to a point where we can afford another one. We are negotiable on the price. Had an offer of $11,000 this morning, and countered at $11,500.

I am a little Leary of that truck it says it is in tn but it has tx plates and reg on it. It may be a scam my dad ran across a deal like this where the guy is selling because he needs to down size and he ia really knownable about the veh but he has to ship it to you and you can't get him to let you inspect it. Call paranoid.

i noticed that but spending 20 years in military I was use to people having plates from one state and working in another..... i asked him about it and also for the VIN to run a car fax. :) I am not buying it though...would have to see it in person first...plus I want to get the 60 fixed and running right again.

No lockers, no dice. Does not have Atrac.

they bought it when they lived in arkansas then moved to texas...and just moved to tennessee. he got the window sticker for me and the VIN...

it only has Center Diff Lock and 2nd Start button for starting on ice or in sand in 2nd gear rather than first.. Also has a PWR mode button but that is about it. Never been offroad...is his wifes car for daily driver. Just stock full time four wheel drive with Hi Low range transfer case and above options. :( Here is the VIN JT3HT05J6X0029481

Not sure if it would be too expensive to throw a factory locker in rear.....or add two ARBs in front and rear if he drops price more...other than that is exceptional sounding rig.

Too bad Michael will never pull the trigger on one. LOL An Upstate Cruiser member has his for sale with ARB bumpers, sliders, lockers, lift, etc in North Carolina.

Brock, who in upstate has a rig for sale? I couldnt find it on the for sale page?

alot of miles on that pony- 197k for 11k - I found some decent deals- trying to work out a 99 with 116k for 12ish

YOu would not do the Aussie Locker again if you got a 100 series

An aussie locker in a daily driver, not for me. Maybe a limited slip, but the ARB would cost as much as a LS.

Aussie lockers are nice, and inexpensive, but IMHO they are just a slight notch above a "Lincoln locked" third. Not the caliber differential that a 100 series deserves.

the aussie locker is fine in daily driver...if anyone says an aussie locker in the rear of a long wheelbase vehicle is terrible then they did not set it up right. Especially if it is an auto tranny and a long heavy vehicle it is nearly unnoticeable. Maybe in a short wheel base 40 series with manual tranny it might be different but still would not say it is bad.

that being said there is not an aussie locker for the 100 series...they only go for land cruisers through 1997 so not an option this day anyhow...as more people start wheeling them and asking for them I am sure one will be available.

in my 60 the aussie is nearly transparent...and i cannot hear it at all unless windows are down, radio off, quiet surroundings and I am turning sharp corner in parking lot. Driving i almost never realize it is there unless I jam it into gear during upshift and slam the gas like accelerating on highway and all that happens is a very subtle wiggle as the torque on axle catches.

i would do an aussie before a LSD....that is a compromise offroad to me and will leave you hanging when you need it most when you got opposite wheels in the air spinning...unless they stopped how they built them in the past 20 years.

I have a lockright in the rear of the Jeep, and it is really noticeable. but in a long wheelbase, it would be fine. You just drive a little different, thats all.
The LSD did me very well this weekend in the 62, but I asked Scott and Corey to let me know if one was spinning w/out the other, and they said yes. Impressive, but not a locker by any means.

Isnt a lockright and aussie the same basic design? Lockright in the rear of my 62 was far from transparent and drove me nuts, especially in an auto where you are unsure when exactly the trans is going to shift and your truck lurches to one side. Off road it was awesome but DD it drove me nuts. I am cheap on a lot of things, but I will never run a semi locker like that again. It will be ARB or factory electric from now on.

guy that did the aussie also designed lockright and then left company and did his own thing...design is slightly different but if you use the right setup it should not do what you state....Mine does the one side lurch that is barely noticeable and if I shift like a sane person I never notice it.

Brock,

How many miles are on that CL UZJ100? Craiglist is blocked where i work.

Thanks
john
