Really? He keeps dropping the price he wants to sell bad I guess. I emailed him and told me I listed it here PM me with your number Ill try and get you in touch with him. I dont know the guy. Just emailed him once. He repleied a week later He travels a lot I think.

I called and emailed too. I sent a few questions via email then he deletes the ad and posts this

1993 Land Cruiser FJ80. Cheap!! Must Sell!

Is there something wrong with this truck for him to be annoyed with people asking questions?

Yea no clue guys I sent him a email told him I was posting it on this forum and be prepared for serious buyers that would have lots of questions. If I can get you guys anymore info I will. Seems like a smoking deal that should go to a cruiser guy. Ill email him again and tell him there are guys really interested. PM me your contacts

Edit After I posted this I went back to the CL post, it now reads .http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1421497151.html Guy sound like a real A$$. I guess he would rather give his truck away then, answer a few questions and get what his truck is worth. Im sure he could have got a lot more than he is now asking . Im out. He is on his own. Good luck. shame...real shame

Well, he doesn't sound like a nice guy. At the same time, I understand him. I had my cruisers for sale a while ago and it was real pain in the neck. I had many people emailed me at least 2 to 3 times from each person requesting pictures of certain parts, and asking questions that i already stated on the selling page. Well, I don't have a problem with that. The problem is, even though most of my answers were positive because the trucks were in satisfactory conditions, none of them came and looked at the truck. Only a few local people, who had only a few questions, came. Seriousely, I had emails gone back and forth 3 times a day for a whole week with one guy. after a week of ping-ponging, I asked him if he wanted to see the truck, and got no reply. He didn't even say why he didn't want to see my truck.

Obviously this seller and I are no sales guru.. but mudders, please take it easy on him and understand that he may have to answer for a 100 other people.

I think the seller has a very good point. Some people dont HAVE to or NEED to sell something, so they dont want to go the extra mile to put a deal together. I have had several sellers, even on this forum, blow me off when I ask about storing a rig until I get transportation arranged, ask alot of questions etc.... I have offered to pay pal or wire transfer the money with a little extra info. I buy cars without looking at them in person all the time!!!!! Usually if someone only wants you to come in person or act evasive, they are trying to conceal something and dont want the quilt of selling it to you without looking at, but dont have the balls to say "hey man it smokes in the mornings, or knocks when its cold"

There's no excuse for being a douchebag about answering questions. Selling a vehicle is a pain in the ass and time consuming, plain and simple. It's not a kitchen table or bicycle, buyers want to know what kind of condition the thing is to avoid getting a lemon or POS. You list your vehicle on CL or any other public place asking for people to contact you do you expect them to just start making offers over the phone without getting some info on the car? You want that type of deal, ebay it. IMO you're looking for trouble buying a car with only 4 pictures and information given that's filtered from the seller with out some basic questions answered.

Well, I agree and disagree. :flipoff2:Maybe this seller is a douchebag. But, he is not the one who put up his sale on the mud.. He put it on Craigslist, which is meant to be focused on local sale.. Or, at least that is how I use craigslist. sell locally quickly face to face old fashioned way - less headache

when I tried sell mine, I sent out a zip file, which contained 100+ pics and 3 pages of documents commenting all goods and bads, to all emailers. I did my best to be honest and thorough. I took my time to respond every email I got. I did what I did to get the most out of my truck, but this seller may have different idea of selling.

my point is..
....
I don't even know why I'm trying to defend this guy...
...
What a douchebag!!!

Funny!!

My comment is based on living here and originally finding it on craigslist. I called and emailed that I was willing to come look at it but wanted some questions answered before I took up either of our time.

Anyway, he took down the rude ad and replaced with a slightly less rude one.

I talked to this guy,
HE IS A TOTAL JERK. Refuses to answer simple questions like what oil was used, miles at what point service was done on items. He is just a jerk and also seems to think he has the ONLY 8o in the state that is worth anything. AVOID him if unless you like dealing with assholes.

Just curious what you guys would have been willing to pay for it assumming it was in good condition.

every penny he is asking! And I sense the reason behind your question.... If it was in good condition and you buy it to make a couple hundred bucks I'd do it, but if you buy it and jack the price way up I wouldnt!

Na I wasnt thinking of buying it. I was just curious how much the guy has lost by not answering questions ffrom buyers

He lost my money - I left 3 different messages offering a $100 PayPal deposit sight unseen to hold it until I came out this weekend to inspect & buy. That money was his whether I bought it or not and he wouldnt return my calls or e-mails - so - I'm looking at 2 different LX450's here today locally, surprisingly havent found a non-beat 80 with lockers locally so I gotta shop the more expensive emblems!
