I run them on my FJ40. They are phenomenal! In my opinion, they don't look as good as the old school lights; but whatever, it's a safety thing and you gotta see at night. Two thumbs up from me.

^^ x 2. I run them in my fj43. Best mode ever.
The LED headlights make the night driving pleasant and Roger ( city racer) has great customer service.

I don't recall which LED's we went with on my 40 (@Trollhole will know) but I echo @CharlestonG8R! Love them when driving at night!

I am little torn. My 40 is pretty basic and has a nice old school patina and I dont want to take away from that, but it also is my daily driver and I drive it at night quite a bit.

I am probably overthinking this though...

If you want to keep the look you can get a 7" round housing that fits an h4 bulb, then upgrade to an LED bulb.

Johnnybighead. Have heard great reviews on CityRacer's stuff but above is what i did for the reasons you stated

I used hella housings and 55/100w h4 halogen. I didnt go LED but id be tempted to see them if i could find in warmer range (havent looked). The 100w high beam isnt dot approved but its me approved on empty roads and the 55w is much better than stock.

Only downside that I have almost grown accustomed to is the flatter face to the glass on the lens vs the stock kioto domes that protrude from the bezel a bit more.

I like that option.

Any idea on how much it cost for the setup?

Good call. I did indead. And got help doing it so all i can say is ran two relays. One for low and one for high and wired accordingly.

That part is not the stockest or prettiest but could be done cleaner.
