What do y'all do for power adapters that use a cigarette lighter but you want to hide the power behind the dash?
So I have a 2 devices right now that are use cigarette lighter power. One is a carpuride screen and the other is a ProClip phone power mount (love it btw). I always like to tuck things away. Here's my problem....
The power adapters have a female USB port on them. I first tried to cut the proclip cord and then wired it in directly but I guess I didn't have the right power from 12V and needed the USB power at more like 5V-3V (I can't remember). So I instead bought another power adapter and just wired it in behind the dash to a female cigarette plug and connected that directly. It has a fuse and I taped it up but it's just clunky.
Now I have the carpuride that I'm going to do the same thing. But now I have 2x female cigarette lighter plugs zip tied below the day. It seems like there is a more elegant solution.
I have one of these and want to plug everything in here but I don't know how the power adapter with the USB on it handles power. And what if I have a 3rd device?
Thoughts?
