Check out the Facebook page for details. Sounds like we need to collect some toys as well as some necessities for Kids and attend an event on Dec 3, which might conflict with our Christmas tree event.

Something appears wrong with the Facebook link; I checked it just now and earlier when this topic was posted to the "club business" thread--facebook says "sorry...content not available". I searched Google, too, and there is no results for "Christmas for Kids Colorado" in Colorado Springs, at least none was obvious. I did see this one for Denver: http://da2030.org/christmas-for-kids-2/

I looked at another area 4x4 club website and did a keyword search; found a reference to the event for 2014, but it was just a few lines in their forum. No pictures, description, or suggestion of how they did it and what their result was.

I'm not opposed to doing this--I just don't understand the who, what, how, and where; seems the when is December 3rd, which would take some effort between now and then.

Is this a potential "joint effort" where we could support another 4x4 club? We conduct toy and non-perishable food collection among friends, neighbors, and acquaintances, and pass the items to XYZ 4x4 Club for donation to the Christmas for Kids organization?

Strang the link works foe me. Try going to Facebook and adding Christmas for Kids Colorado.

Christmas for kids is on the third. It's not a standard toy drive though. There are a couple of the clubs that go through child services to sponser children for the holiday, then they spend a.month or so.collecting what that child wants and collectimg.money for child services.

There is a 4wheel toys for tots style event but that's in Denver. The caravan for kids is also held the 3rd and is the largest single.day toy drive in the western region.

I thought it was a COA4WDCi thing. We are still on their roster, though I'm not sure we're paid up on membership.

it was started by coa4wdci. mile hi took it over a few years back. that's been one of the hot spots at the meetings over the last year. coa4wdci has started so many great things and let them go, so when feat changed directors and wanted to 501c3, we made sure it would continue as a coa4wdci agenda.

now we just need to keep coa4wdci going. ;)
