Chop the Roof?

Has anyone thought of chopping the roof and making it a permanent convertible. If so, how much do you think it would cost at a shop. thoughts?
 
cut it off yourself. Then make a roll cage and customize a ragtop.
 
I had one of my friends do this to a Corolla XRS. He did a great job. He had a softop and a hardtop for it. I believe it ran him for about $2K in tools/parts/design he did all the labor himself.
 
The first shop to chop the top is going to receive alot of exposure. Someone out there get the top cut off.

Looked at the speculative thumbnail of an FJ Cruiser de-topped,..... reminds me of the old Pacer! Amazingly butt-ugly!
 
it would look so much better if a cage was in these renders. who is the master photochopper?
