I'm looking to modernize the look of my good old HZJ73 and it's rusty light :hillbilly:
Online you can find several version of these 7" led headlight, some are replica of the JW Speakers other are a bit different...
but the question is .... they worth the money? :slap:

any experiences here?

Got a link to the ones you are looking at?

I recently installed a pair of Truck light 27270C LED headlights in the Troopy, they seem a bit brighter, well made and were easy to instal. On a minor note the looks are a bit to techy for a 70 series IMOP

I can't comment on the Chinese made LED headlights, but I can say my TruckLite LED lights (27490C right side and 27491C and left side) are worth every penny. I live in a very rural area, where opportunities to use the brights abound. I bought them while using my LJ78 as a rural mail route truck, and felt the $400 was worth the safety. They light up deer along the side of the road like nothing else, and the Kevlin range is easier on the eye. I'm not carrying the mail any more, but feel they are the best investment I've made on the truck.

light arrived today... tonight i Will mount the new eyes to my old 73 :hillbilly:

Well, lights just installed..... I'm impressed
The light are very well made, and very bright, much better than the stock hella.

Fitment is perfect no minor modification required

If I have to find a cons the hig beam is is a little narrow... But not too much and anyway super bright.

Well they worth the money for me.

Last thing now my 73 is very aggressive

Picture to come tomorrow

Here a photo sorry for the poor quality but I've used my cell phone...

as soon as I can I will post photos of the beam

24V, but led lights usually run from 10V to 30V

I was thinking of something like this because you get the upgraded relay and wiring with it.
Toyota Landcruiser 40 45 47 55 60 70 75 78 79 series HID Hi/Lo Kit and 7" lights

well, before getting these I've used for a bit a Xenon kit but I'ts annoying for other drivers...(and here , in the socialist europe, illegal)

in my opinion if you wanna use xenon better use lenses like this:

H4 insert symmetric prism reflector w. clear lens, 7 inch. Unknown

with clear glass

These tend to work a bit better than the cheap Chinese LED setups. But, I'd definitely agree with Wino that agood set of H4s is a cheap and easy way of making the headlights brighter

HI
I have them also, on my FJ70, they are not as bright as HID lights, also not plug and play, in land cruiser they needs relays to work properly.
was not difficult but, it took time...

Since I am chasing some battery draw with extra volt meters I like how original lights in my 24Volt system seem to equalize the batteries.
I always have light on for that reason, stopped using led in the dash because the original glow bulbs are nice little heaters:

in mine hzj no modification at all

Normally LED headlights do not draw enough current to activate the high beam indicator. I have found that putting a resister on one of the headlights is enough.

mine are rated to 105W, so probably enough :)

What lights are you running and what size/type resistor did you use?
I just installed the TruckLite LED's and would like my hi-beam indicator to work
